Creating beautiful large-scale art for your home is so much fun and easier than you might think!
Expanding Landscapes is a self-study course where I share my fun, intuitive approach to painting fabulous large-scale abstract landscapes.
We'll tackle five projects together, In each one I'll break down every step for you. No secrets held back—I promise!
I know painting big canvases can sound a bit intimidating. But trust me, we'll conquer that fear together. I'll let you in on all my secrets for mixing colors, adding depth, and creating gorgeous textures that will make your paintings come alive.
Imagine how amazing it will feel hanging your own beautiful abstract landscapes on your walls, sharing them with family and friends or even selling them!
So, what are you waiting for? Let's dive into Expanding Landscapes together and make some art magic happen. I can't wait to see what you create!
Let’s take a look at the projects…
Lesson one is all about ease and flow. We will use charcoal and acrylics to create a simple yet beautiful contemporary painting. I chose to create this piece in gorgeous shades of blue but you can use these techniques to create a similar piece in any colour you like!
Lesson One - Blue Horizon
Lesson Two - Daybreak
In lesson two I will share my fearless, intuitive approach as we take a journey creating a soft yet vibrant, abstract sunrise. In this lesson we will warm things up with a beautiful palette of pinks, gold and green. We will play with texture, using a trowel to create fabulous dimensional clouds!
Lesson Three - Moonlit Meander
In lesson three we will start by painting with abandon adding colour to the canvas without any thought of how the finished piece may look. We will start off dark and bring brighter blues, greens and whites in as we go. We will play with the paint in a fun and free way allowing it to drip and flow eventually finding ourselves with this bold abstract landscape.
In Lesson four we will head to the beach! We will start off using bold shades of blue and purple. Then we will embark on an intuitive journey letting the canvas and paint guide us to this dramatic night time seascape. I will share step by step how to create beautiful, dreamy clouds.
Lesson Four - Passing Time
Lesson Five - Morning Walk
In lesson five I will share some fun techniques for painting trees and mountains! Once again we will begin without a plan allowing the paint and our intuition to guide us along the way.
In this fun bonus we will begin with some close ups of some of the techniques we explored during the earlier lessons. Then we will take that “practice canvas” and begin a new painting. I will talk about the challenges and benefits of painting “out of order” and about how to keep things light, loose and fun!
Bonus Lesson - Enjoy the View

I'm an artist from Victoria, BC, Canada, and I'm so glad you’re here! Painting is my source of joy and freedom and I love to share that with others.
About 12 years ago, I decided to make painting a daily part of my life, resulting in hundreds (maybe even thousands!) of artworks. Over the past 10 years I have sold my work to collectors from all over the world. I also license images and you might find my art in some of your favorite home décor stores!
I think art should be a part of everyone's life. If you've ever felt the desire to paint, I'm here to say you can and should! I hope my online classes inspire you!
